The Antiques Roadshow’s resident furniture expert, John Bly, will be appearing at an exclusive event in the Worcestershire village of Broadway on Friday 5th August, in aid of next year’s Broadway Arts Festival. He will be sharing Roadshow anecdotes and tips on dating and valuing antiques, as well as checking out guests’ own heirlooms.
One of the world’s leading experts on English furniture and silver, John has been with the TV series since it began in 1978 and is now an acclaimed after dinner speaker, author and TV producer.
The antiques evening, at the prestigious Dormy House Hotel, will include a Pimms reception and gourmet meal. Tickets cost £45 each (tables for ten are available) and can be obtained from Shoprite, High Street, Broadway or by email; rsvp@broadwayartsfestival.com’
Simon Williamson from the Festival said:
“We are delighted to have secured this very special guest for our dinner. John is a very amusing and knowledgeable speaker and this is a unique local opportunity for guests to bring along that family heirloom that intrigues them”
Broadway Arts Festival was held for the first time in 2010 and was a resounding success. The second festival will take place from 9th – 17th June 2012.
The 2012 Festival programme will be announced later this month.
