Dormy House Hotel aims to ensure that all employees, guests and others who use the hotel are treated equally according to their needs.

Please find below information which we hope will ensure your stay at the Dormy House is enjoyable. Recognition has been given to include guests with an impairment, which could include: Mobility, Sight, Hearing, Learning Disabilities or any hidden impairment.  In this statement we have also given consideration to special dietary requirements.

Outline of Hotel

When Dormy House was remodelled in 2013, every care was taken to ensure good access for all. The front of the hotel – traditionally reached by steep steps, has a new ramp which leads into The Potting Shed. This gives access to the rest of the hotel via one or two shallow steps. Staff members are trained and ready to assist anyone with mobility problems or in a wheelchair.

Inside Dormy House, ramps enable access throughout. There is also level access from the new House Spa entrance at the side of the hotel. One ramp leads to the spa treatment rooms and another takes guests back to the hotel reception and toilets. House Spa has a spacious lift which connects Reception to the Personal Training Studio and beyond to the pool and thermal areas.

The most significant factor is personal service and we expect all staff members to anticipate and meet guests’ needs, whatever they may be.


Please bear in mind that due to the age of the hotel, floor levels do vary and the type of floor covering is a mixture of flagstones, wooden flooring, carpet and rugs.  Where floors are polished we endeavour to use a non-slip polish to minimise the risk of slips, trips and falls.  However, please be aware of possible changes in floor levels and textures as you walk around our hotel and premises


The hotel corridors and public areas are well lit.

If you are arriving after dark then please bear in mind that, in keeping with the hotel surroundings and to keep guests disturbances to a minimum, the outside lighting is kept minimal.  Porters and Duty Managers can assist you with torches upon request.

Prior to your arrival

Enquiries and reservations may be made online, by phone or by email.  Should you require a taxi to the hotel from the local train stations (see Travel by Train below) we use a reliable company on a regular basis and we would be delighted to book them on your behalf.  They do have vehicles suitable for wheelchair users if required.


Our reputation for outstanding customer service means that our Duty Managers and porters are able to help with accessibility between buildings and rooms and we aim to ensure that nothing is too much trouble.

Travel by Train

We recommend alighting at either Moreton in the Marsh or Evesham Train Station, both of which are located 10-15 minutes drive from the hotel. Access information for our nearest railway stations:

Arrival at Dormy House

We have numerous designated disable parking spaces at the front and sides of the hotel.  There is a ramp at the front of the hotel into The Potting Shed. Porters and Duty Managers are available at all times and we are more than happy to help you with your luggage and will collect it from the car and deliver it to your room if preferred.

Reception Area

Double doors lead to the reception area which gives good space to turn a wheelchair and is all on one level. The floors are tiled and suitable for wheelchair users.  The Reception Desk is a low-level table ideal for wheelchair users.

Guest Information

All our rooms have full guest information on Wifi tablets. Text can be enlarged if required.


More than half of our bedrooms are on the ground floor and therefore easily accessible. We also have two adapted bedrooms, featuring wide doors, panic alarms in both bedroom and bathroom, wheelchair accessible showers and toilets.

Public Area Toilet Facilities

Unisex disabled toilets are located near reception, with access by ramp.

Disabled Lift

A disabled lift does give access to pool in House Spa.  Please ask at House Spa reception for assistance.

Hard of Hearing

For guests who are hard of hearing a vibrating pillow device is available from reception which links into our fire alarm system.

We are able to provide a hearing loop system for conference delegates.  Please give us notice in advance so we can arrange this facility.


Details of our evacuation procedures can be found in guest bedrooms.  In the event of evacuation the alarm bell will ring continuously and if you require assistance for evacuating please notify reception upon arrival. The assembly point is at the front of the hotel.

Guide and Assistance Dogs

Registered assistance dogs are allowed throughout the hotel.

Relaxing, Dining and Food

Background music is played in all the public areas of the hotel. We offer full waiter service and will cater for any special needs upon request.

Our Chefs are able to cater for any special dietary or allergy requirements that are required with notice. Please ensure that you inform our sales team/reception in advance of your arrival.

Not all ingredients are detailed in our menus therefore if you would like more information about the ingredients used please ask our waiting staff who will be happy to assist.


All televisions benefit from subtitles


Small fridges are available in all of our suites.  Guests staying in a room without a fridge are able to store any medication with our reception.
