There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.”
– Henry James

Apart from, perhaps, discussing the weather or apologising when someone bumps into you, there can’t be many things more quintessentially English than afternoon tea. At Dormy House, we believe that breakfast may be the most important meal of the day, but tea is the most civilised.

Available from 27th June, between 2pm and 4pm, Monday to Saturday, our Garden Room restaurant invites you to join us for a classic spread of freshly made sandwiches (including cucumber, naturally), quiche, beautifully crafted cakes and scones slathered in cream and jam. All washed down with a selection of fine teas sourced from China, India, Morocco and Sri Lanka – and, should you be in the mood, a glass of champagne or a cocktail.

In addition to the classics, you can jazz up your platter with hearty home-made treats such as sausage rolls or Welsh rarebit, or add a luxury touch with smoked salmon and caviar. Just leave enough room for dinner.
